Countdown to Christmas. Day 4.

Sovereign Lord, 

This broken world is replete with injustice, lovelessness and man's inhumanity to man. Still, You've counted us worthy of redemption.

This broken world is home to many who cry, "Lord, Lord," yet live as if You are an oblivious being, unbothered by our rebellion. Open the eyes of all of us who have forgotten the depth of Your anguish over our sin and the resulting immeasurable price You paid to purchase our pardon.

 May we not forget to tremble, for You are Holy. May we not forget to love, for You have given this highest command. 

May our lives reflect the sacrificial selflessness of Your Son, our Savior, so that all who meet us cannot escape awareness of Your presence. May we then be granted the marvelous privilege of sharing the good news of Your gospel--salvation through Jesus The Christ--in whose precious name we join our hearts in prayer. Amen.
