Countdown to Christmas. Day 24. Christmas Eve...

Lord God Almighty,

 On the eve of Christmas day, we ask you to still us-- remind us-- that love has come and hope is here. Make this awareness stunning, and grant to us childlike, expectant hearts. 

 Protect us from the temptation to be casual or cavalier in our observance of the miraculous. 

 Make our first thought of Your gift and our first gift to you the complete surrender of our lives to your Lordship. 

 We praise you for the birth of One so holy who is King and Redeemer, Jesus our Lord. Amen.
